Fridays are a good time to notice people. Today's team message is a simple thank you, and the coaching move helps you make it specific.

Team message

A thank you before the weekend

Hi team! Before the weekend, I want to say thank you. I've noticed so many of you cheering each other on in the comments this week, and it makes this group a good place to be. Have a restful weekend.

Name two or three people who showed up for others this week if you can do it without leaving anyone out.

  • What did you actually notice your team doing this week?
  • How do you usually sign off before the weekend?

One reader’s version: Hi friends! Happy Friday. I saw so many of you answering each other's questions this week, and it made my whole week. Go enjoy your weekend.

Coaching move

Thank the action

When you thank someone, name the exact thing they did. "Thanks for answering Kim's question on Tuesday" lands much deeper than "Thanks for everything."

People repeat what gets noticed, so notice the habits you hope to see more often.

Send one of these privately today. A private thank you can mean more than a public one.

  • Who on your team quietly helped someone this week?
  • What exactly did they do?

One reader’s version: I messaged Dee: "Thank you for walking Sam through her first story on Wednesday. She told me it helped." Dee replied with three hearts and a voice note.

Leadership post

Small things I noticed this week

This week I noticed a friend answer someone's question late at night, and another cheer for a stranger's first post.

None of it was big, and all of it mattered.

I'm ending my week grateful for people who show up for each other.

Who showed up for you this week?

Keep it about kindness you saw. It works for any audience.

  • What small kindness did you notice this week?
  • Who would you like to thank out loud?

One reader’s version: This week my neighbor brought my trash cans in while I was away, and my niece texted just to say hi. Small things, big week. Who showed up for you?
